Provide break out spaces, learning commons, and seating options that allow for one-on-one learning and small group collaboration to support the LCAP goals related to College and Career Readiness and creating safe and positive learning environments.
The Ed Specs serve to illustrate concepts that will inform the master plans based on OUSD's aspirations to the audience of future architects who will implement them as well as for OUSD stakeholders to understand the reasoning behind modernizations.

For classrooms adjacent to Open Collaboration areas, provide a connection directly to the shared learning space.

Breakout spaces
Breakout spaces located adjacent to classrooms or commons support a "pull in" model for targeted supports for students who need academic support or have special needs and OUSD's Supported Learning Model. Include space for specialist to store materials needed.
